About Transform Tutoring

Transform Tutoring is a Bay Area-based organization, where tutors are selected for their academic excellence, teaching prowess, and commitment to helping youth. We have an incredibly talented team of PhD students, medical students, alumni, and undergraduates from top 10 universities including Stanford, Princeton, Yale, MIT, and Johns Hopkins. In-depth pedagogy and mentoring are central to our approach, and out tutors form lasting relationships with students and families. We are committed to creating independent learners and confident students in each of our sessions.

Question-Oriented Teaching Method

Our teaching emphasizes including the student every step of the way, so a student isn’t left behind during an explanation of a tough concept. Too many times, teachers ‘talk’ at students rather than including them in the learning process. Our job is to correct that.

Holistic Tutoring

We hire tutors who are multi-dimensional in their tutoring capabilities so that as a team, we can support our families in a range of subjects - from science to math to test prep.

Ultimate Academic Success

Although it may seem bad for business, our goal as tutors is to eliminate our students’ need for us. We want them to eventually independently reach their academic goals.

Simply put, we care an incredible amount about teaching and mentoring quality. We see teaching as an art and are always looking to improve and find ways we can better help our families.

Our families appreciate this. We regularly receive heartfelt postcards and feedback from our parents telling us about the difference we’ve made in their students’ lives.

Tutor & Mentor Positions

Apply to any of the open positions or internships listed below. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to multiple roles and internships at the same time.

Academic Tutors for Transform are excellent teachers who are passionate about pedagogy. Our students range from elementary to high school, and we do tutoring for all academic subjects as well as test prep.

Year-Round Jobs & Internship Positions

Pay: $40/hr

The Sales and People Operations intern will serve as a sales lead and lead client-facing operations.

Pay: $40/hr

The Growth Hacking position is for proactive, driven, and creative individuals who are interested in maximizing growth and efficiency in our business model.

Pay: $30/hr

Our UX & Design specialist will help our team make our product more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers.

Pay: $30/hr

The Search Engine Optimization Strategist will use SEO strategy to increase visibility of Transform's online presence.

Pay: $13/hr

Our Virtual Assistant will assist with organization, planning, and business operations on a daily basis.

Pay: $13/hr

This is an internship for high schoolers with an aptitude for business. Shadow a CEO and get a chance to be part of a fast-paced business environment.

Internship FAQs

Can I apply to multiple internship positions? Can I apply to tutor and serve in an internship?

Absolutely. In fact, it is strategically advantageous to apply to as many internships as possible, as internship tracks are evaluated 100% independently of each other. Furthermore, an intern who passes applications for 2 areas has a far more competitive advantage. For this reason, applicants are encouraged to apply to all teaching and internship positions they feel comfortable in.

I don’t live in the Bay Area. Will that be a problem?

No. Our 2021 internships will be virtual.

When is the deadline to apply?

To apply for the listed roles, submit the application tasks by the date listed at the top of the page. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so the sooner you submit them, the higher chance of acceptance.

What is the weekly time commitment for each role?

Hours range between 5-15 hours/week, and are flexible, depending on what tutor or intern prefers. Most interns are simultaneously students or work at a full-time job, and fit their Transform Tutoring internship around their school/work positions.
